In addition to furniture repair and re-upholstery, we also build custom furniture to your specifications. If you have a design of an upholstered chair you always wanted, then Apex Furniture Refinishing can build a chair for you. The chair is made of kiln dried hardwood with double doweled construction, an option to select high resilience foam cushion or a spring-down cushion, 8-way hand tied springs, carefully matched fabric patterns, thick padded arms, fitted arm covers, and lined stiffened skirts. Your custom chair will look and feel great.
In the photos below, taken in the shop area of our building, you can see our work in progress. First step in the process is to remove all the old fabric, cushions, denim, edging, burlap, foam, muslin, webbing, padding, tacks, staples, clamps and springs. The frame is then repaired or reglued if needed and springs retied. At Apex, we do not reuse any material or cover over old fabric or padding. Seat and back cushions (except down or feather) will get new foam inserts covered with your choice of fabric and expertly stuffed so the appearance is perfect.
